Hello World!

June 17, 2009

I got my website up and running!

I've been studying ASP.NET quite some time, and now I finally decided to put my own blog site using ASP.Net. I've done some Wordpress blogging before which is based in PHP and CSS and now as I study more about ASP.NET, I wanted to make a blog that is powered by it.

My first step was to look for a free web host that supports ASP.NET 2.0 or higher, and it was tough looking for a good web host. Upon googling and searching the web, I found ASPSpider. The service is quite good but it did have some drawbacks too, considering it is free but I think that it's better among the other free ASP.NET web hosting sites and I do thank them for providing their free services. They provide a good training and learning ground in using ASP and ASP.NET. Well, sometimes I do get some problem on identity impersonate and I think it's having conflict with my web.config file. That's when I decided to look for other free web hosting site that provides support for ASP.NET.

Thankfully, Sir Ryan Garaygay of Microsoft Philippines Community gave me a webhosting account and a sub-domain to put up my site and I'd like to thank him for being kind and helpful, specially to Filipino developers. :)

Well this begins my blogging world with .NET technology and hope to write more post about it.
